I guess you could say that I am a recent fan of Dr. Who, I have only been watching since the 2005 Season 1, and I haven’t gone back and watched all of the old episodes like my son and husband. I likedĀ Eccleston as The Doctor in Season 1, and absolutely fell in love with Billie Piper as Rose Tyler. I was mildly disappointed to see Eccleston go after only 1 season, but I was immediately taken with David Tennant. I will admit I cried to see Rose leave, she was a fabulous companion, and the chemistry between her and The Doctor was great. I thought it was wonderful to see The Doctor fall in love. I wasn’t a big Martha Jones fan in the beginning, but grew to tolerate her by the end of the season. Season 4 has proven to be great, and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble is almost as good a companion as Rose and Sarah Jane. This weekends episode 12 season 4 is killing me. WARNING: SPOILERS HERE AFTER!!!!
How could they make him regenerate just after Rose returns? It was a very emotional show, Rose was crying, Donna was crying, they killed off Sarah Jane, as well as, most of the Torchwood team. So now it is looking like we will have a new Doctor once again, which really stinks since the Doctor can only regenerate 12 times and Tennant makes the 10th one. I know the typical time for any one actor to play The Doctor is 3 seasons, but I don’t want to see Tennant leave. He is an absolutely fantastic Doctor. Then the fact that they are saying no new season for 2009 really stinks.
They are planning on running a few special editions next year but not a regular season. The final episode of season 4 airs next weekend, I can’t wait to see what happens and how they fix this mess they have created.
